If anything, the first week of COP30 has made one thing clear: that climate politics in Belém is not only unfolding as negotiation between Party states. It is also a moment of political reckoning with the lived realities of people and ecology, shaped directly and indirectly by exploitation and occupation within the global systems of power and violence.
