Who We Are
The Palestinian Institute for Climate Strategy (PICS) builds transformative responses to the climate crisis grounded in justice, liberation, and lived Palestinian realities.

Through research, advocacy, and community engagement, we challenge interlocking systems of violence, amplify local knowledge, and ensure Palestine is shaping global climate and ecological futures, not as a passive voice, but as a critical actor.
Our Pillars
Our work is rooted in the belief that liberation is ecological and that justice cannot be separated from the right to self-determination.

Our Programs
From international negotiations to community-rooted training, our programs turn strategy into action across borders and sectors.

Research and
Publications

We produce original research that grounds Palestinian liberation in the global climate justice struggle. Our publications expose the links between fossil fuels, militarism, and occupation. We focus on critical themes such as solar geoengineering, fossil fuel phase-out, demilitarization, and climate finance for decolonization. These outputs shape policy debates and offer strategies for just, decolonial futures.

Campaigns and
Actions

We intervene directly in global arenas like COP negotiations, UN summits, and civil society convenings. Our campaigns include the call for a global Energy Embargo on Israel, the Recognize, Resist, Rebuild Manifesto, and actions against military greenwashing. Through these interventions we build alliances across movements, disrupt greenwashing narratives, and push climate diplomacy to center Palestine.

Youth-Led Programs

We cultivate Palestinian capacity for climate leadership and resilience. This includes youth empowerment, grassroots training, and community partnerships on issues of energy, food, and water. These programs sustain local agency in Gaza and the West Bank and connect Palestinian struggles with international solidarity networks.

Movement Building
& Networking

We strengthen a global ecosystem for Palestine-centered climate justice. This means developing regional and international nodes, coordinating with allies in the Pacific, Latin America, and Africa, and creating shared advocacy tools. By weaving together networks across borders, we build collective power that situates Palestine as a moral compass for the global climate justice movement.
